A 19th century watercolour of a spaniel with a very endearing face lying on a cushion. It is painted on an embossed card with Cupid and two love birds, indicating that it was a Valentine card. It was created by Henry Dobbs, who was active throughout the 19th century in a series of partnerships as a firm of embossers, and ornamental stationers to the King. Set in a mahogany frame.
