An early 19th century Folk Art water colour of a jockey with harlequin silk, mounted on a stylised thoroughbred horse. In the background is a windmill and  sheep grazing, possibly Newmarket Heath. The posture of the jockey with a long stirrup and straight back is quite unlike the position used today. Highlighted watercolour on card. English, circa 1825.
